Vale Pope Francis

1936-2025

It is with deep sorrow, we join the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis. As we reflect on his profound legacy of compassion, missionary discipleship, and unwavering love for the marginalised, we celebrate his life and gift to the world. Like the Sisters of Charity, impelled by the love of Christ, Pope Francis embraced the call to serve the poor.

International Women’s Day: Accelerating Action.

This International Women’s Day we highlight the contributions of the Sisters of Charity who, for 187 years, have worked to uplift and accelerate action for the betterment of women and their communities.

This exhibition will feature five Sisters of Charity and their ministries across time and the world.

The Iconic Photography of Max Dupain OBE.

Celebrated Australian photographer Max Dupain’s images of the Sisters of Charity in the early 1950s are a valuable record of religious life in Australia during that time. His black-and-white images of the Postulants and Novices at Bethania captured a unique moment in the Congregation’s history.

The exhibition is on display in the Heritage Centre reception area.
