This International Women’s Day we are exploring the power of reciprocity and support. The ministries of the Sisters of Charity of Australia have long been supported by fundraising efforts of those around them. From the bazaars organised to aid the purchase of the first convent, Tarmons, to raising funds for the St Vincent’s Hospital, Fitzroy, lay people have played a major role in providing the Sisters with the means to carry out their ministries and multiply the generosity shown to them.

The Sisters themselves are no strangers to fundraising, taking part in their own drives to raise money and give back to the communities that support them. They have carried out walks, run marathons and entered competitions to raise money for causes across a spectrum of causes.
