Our work would be overpowering were we to view all in any other light than as God’s own work and entirely depending on the miraculous aid of His Almighty Providence.

The Sisters of Charity Heritage Centre is located in Potts Point, near the site of the first hospital and school founded by the Sisters in Sydney.

Our website is an immersive multimedia experience for students of history and social justice, and for those seeking to learn more about what they can do to make the world a fairer place for all. We hope you enjoy the experiences on our website, and hope you can visit the Centre to discover more of our fascinating history in person.

The Sisters of Charity acknowledge the First Peoples and traditional custodians of this land where we live. We respect, value and honour their history, culture and spirituality. We are committed to standing in solidarity and to actively working for justice, peace and harmony in this land.

Mission and formation

The Sisters of Charity Heritage Centre provides a suite of formation materials designed for individuals and groups seeking personal and professional development.

Just because it has not been done before is no reason why it should not be done now.

Our vision

The Heritage Centre opened in June 2019 in Potts Point, Sydney. The Centre is not only a celebration of 185 years of the Sisters’ ministries, but also an exhortation to all Australians to embrace the fourth vow of the Sisters - service of the poor - as a personal mission which they too can follow in the course of their daily lives.
